business astrology for fun -
from The Astro Divas Paula Dare & Donna Page

Happy Friday Divas. With the Moon in Aquarius today and the New Moon in Aquarius tomorrow it is an excellent time to gather your friends together and exchange ideas and news.

Mercury is now retrograde; time to reconnect with people from the past and catch up on all your paperwork (as in all those receipts needed for you upcoming taxes).

The Sun enters Pisces on Sunday bringing forth ideas and opportunities to help others. Keep your eyes and ears open for a cause that your company can sponsor or support; it will be a win-win all around. Tuesday is Mardi Gras, the Moon in Aries bodes for last minute plans. Wednesday Venus moves into Aries, sparks can fly with those close to you as procrastination and indecision will get on your nerves.

Toby,

Anyone who has never worn a uniform or doesn't understand the hell of war should see Bill's photos and read his story. It might slow us down a bit before we jump into the next adventure. Wars kill and maim, sometimes our friends and family members. We need to try every alternative before launching our forces.

Interesting list. These look pretty good. Do you recommend some organizations more than others?

Geoff -

As for which conference I'd recommend. I'll give you a marketer's response .. it depends. It depends on what you want to take away and who you want to network with. I believe that networking (usually) is at least half as beneficial as the formal instruction .. whether that be for biz development or resource information. Add in the budget costs too!

So if you're looking for a way to connect to women who are interested in social media - BlogHer NYC would be the place to go. And it's not far from VA where you're located. If you're looking for a big view on social media and want to throw in the roll of the dice New Com in Vegas is a bet. For a specific vertical the Healthcare Summit is the only conference that I know targeting the healthcare industry while Nedra's workshop leans to nonprofit marketing. Of course, if you're looking for marketing in general the AMA Marketing workshop is a good deal. And if your needs are more sales oriented and your travel plans bring you to New England then off to see Lewis Green!

Toby, thanks for the shout-out. I can't wait to see you, Bill Neal and the rest of the marketing gang. By the way, those pictures of Bill are just incredible!

Great list. I'd like to see more updated ones for sure.

For anyone attending a conference this year, it's always a good idea to brush up on your networking skills! http://www.villanovau.com/how-to-network/
