Friday Fun: A Trump Diva Idea For The Apprentice

04/28/2006

Friday Fun is Diva Marketing's virtual happy hour from cosmos to Jack to lemonade. A waiting for the weekend 'playground' time to be sophisticated-silly. Or sometimes just plain silly.

Okay who is still watching theDonald_trump Apprentice? Even though MediaVest reports, via Ad Age, this season the show has lost 41% of its 18-to-49 year old audience, that still leaves 59%. I know you're out there.

Am I watching?  I surf in and out in between blog postings. What I want to know is -  what gives with The Donald bringing in his two kids Ivanka, whose ink on her Wharton B School degree is still wet, and bro Donald Jr. to judge who should qualify for the $250,000 job? I mean they are no George or Carolyn.

I invited my children, Don Jr. and Ivanka into the boardroom for several episodes this season and they take the firings to a whole new level. Donald Trump.

Was it really The Donald's idea or did some producer think that having a couple of rich kids sitting next to their papa and analyzing the performance of experienced business people would raise the ratings? Or is this Father Knows Best in the style of the Rich and Famous?

Sidebar: In full blogosphere honesty the young Trumps hold very prestigious positions with the Trump Organization. Mr. Donald Trump, Jr., 28, holds the title of Vice President of Development & Acquisitions for the Trump Organizations and Ms. Ivanka Trump, 24, is Vice President of Real Estate Development at the Trump Organization. This is a family business after all. Did you expect junior analysts?

Now I must admit, and it might come to a surprise to Diva Marketing readers, but I come no where near earning the $16,000/minute that Donald Trump pulls down. However, I have an idea that could increase ratings for the next Apprentice season.
Sidebar: Perhaps if i stop giving away free ideas I might come a few pennies closer!

Don Junior and Ivanka come out from behind the board room conference table and on to the playing field as members of the Apprentice teams.

Girlfriend, think about it. Sure, the rules of the game might have to change a bit. Are the Trump kids on the firing line? Do they switch teams mid season? How will the dynamics of relationships among the real apprentices change? Will there be some sucking up? You betcha! Now this is reality TV that could make for some diva dishin!

Remember if NBC steals my Apprentice idea you read it on Diva Marketing first!

business astrology for fun

The new moon in Taurus gives us cosmic instructions to look at our money issues and to take actions to realign with our intentions. Set up those savings accounts you have been thinking about, make an effort to invest in property, cut out unneeded services. With the sun and moon in the ninth house of travel and education, your money spent on those endeavors will yield a healthy return.

Venus in Pisces is a good time to have your business sponsor a cause you personally believe in; race for a cure, humane society, end world hunger, you get the idea. Enjoy the weekend, great eats and interesting conversation is in the air.

Do you believe in stars?

A) The first thing I want to know is why he won't just give up the hairdo. PLEASE! It hurts my eyes.
2) The progeny in the pits with the other mechanics? Sounds very spinnable...

As for the Astrology...
Taurus and money- a natural pairing. Taurus is a born hoarder. Bank accounts and investments come naturally to them. If you use your Taurus brain when thinking about money, you're safe every time. Other folks may be smarter and more cagey about their investments, but Taurus will always have enough money in the end because they are always in it for the long haul.

Pisces and money? Like trying to hold smoke rings in your hands... gone! As a Pisces, I should know. Let's see, I just got back from the largest charity cycling event in the US, so I guess that fulfills my philanthropy fix for now. Something else will get my heart twisted up soon enough though. Don't even mention the baby seals... I'm getting teary-eyed already.

Hi Tim,
You have a good handle on astrology. Do you ever set a chart for the beginning of a race? It is amazing what the chart will tell you about how the race will unfold. Hope your cycling charity event exceeded your expectations. Donna

Donna, you flatter me. My wife and I are junior astrologers. Really, she's a genius and really good- I'm just a hack with just enough knowledge to get into trouble in conversations... "oh, that is such an Aries thing to say"... that gets me into all kinds of trouble. Actually, I'm far more in tune with Tarot and Celtic Runes. I used to start every day with either a 1 or 3 card or Rune reading before leaving the house. It helped me believe I knew what was coming and how to prepare. I used to get the Isa (delay) rune all the time. It helped me know that I needed to be more patient and just relax. The problem is that I make my own Runes, using beach stones, and know the shape of the stones too well and would "fish around" in my Rune pouch for a more favorable reading. Leave it to a Pisces to find a way to cheat at metaphysical endeavors...

Me no get The Apprentice from Day One. But, it was sorta silly fun when it started. Now, it's just - well - silly. And, depressing. I've spent too much time around CEOs with oversized egos and really bad hair! Brings back too many eye-rollin' memories ;-)

My theory is that Donald is an alien (as outed in MIB). His hair (adult) and eyebrows (babies) are the real aliens; the body is just a symbiote. (Okayyyy, Mar, showing your inner geek there aren't you?)

By the by, I'm an Aries and I give some credence to the whole thing. My good and bad points are right in line with the Aries profile.

Have a silly and fun weekend everyone!

Mary -thanks for the heads-up on The Donald. Now it all falls into place..the hair, the speech patterns. By the way, I'm an Aries bebe too.

Tim - who would have thought that the Masiguy would try to stack the deck .

and Graham it would be a hoot if someone picks up this post and passes it along to a producer. But then again, this is the blogopshere and anything can happen!

Aries & Pisces relationships are either great or horrible. My ex-wife is an Aries. Aries draw Pisces like moths to flame though- we are so transmutable and unstable that the fire of Aries is just too much for us. Aries is so confident and almost always knows exactly what they want or where they are going. It can take us Pisces an hour to decide where to go for dinner. We just can't help ourselves.

Nah, the deck is impossible to stack... it's the stones that are easy to manipulate.

Despite the United States’ reputation, where succession via bloodline is frowned upon over succession via talent, there still seems to be a strong fascination there for dynasties—hence the young Trumps’ appearances, in my view. (My goodness, that was one sentence. There are journalism lecturers having fits right now.)
