Friday Fun: Big Easy Memories
09/02/2005
With thoughts and prayers turned to the heart wrenching tragedy in the Gulf states, it doesn't seem appropriate for a silly Friday Fun today. Instead listen to the wise words of a young boy who faced his own personal challenges, Mattie Stepanek
Although 'to be or not to be' is a famous question, another important question is 'to do or not to do' in life. Too often, we choose not to do, because it's easier that way.'
And then if you were lucky to have spent time in the Big Easy, in between blogging posts and conference calls, take a second or two to remember walking down Bourbon Street, watching the world go past as you sipped coffee with chicory and ate yummy, white, powdered sugar beignets at Cafe du Monde while listening to a street musician play glorious jazz.
My memories include a weekend partying in the French Quarter with the divaest GNO friends complete with a vampire, dinner at Nola and alcoholic hurricanes. Another time there was a visit to a gentleman's club with some wild AMA folks. Hmmm...
And then let your fingers do the clicking and make a donation. Here's a list of charities that are helping the Katrina hurricane victims - people and pets.
Good morning America how are you?
Don't you know me I'm your native son,
I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans,
I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done.
