Gavin Heaton, Servant of Chaos, came from down under, Australia, to see "the friends I never met." Gavin is the Education Business Development Manager at SAP America Inc.

Social media is all about people. I have a lot of friends who I never met. When we come together face-to-face we don't need to worry about if we're going to get along, we know we are and it's beautiful.

Captain Drew McLellan, Drew's Marketing Minute, is the Top Dog at McLellan Marketing Group.

To really engage and get to know people on an individual level.
Social media is a tool for all of us to connect.

@Gavin - Very glad you could see Luc's metaphor even with the poor lighting. It's a great explanation of social media. I loved your comment about meeting "old friends" .. lovely way of reinforcing how relationships made online do become important.

It was such a pleasure to meet you there. Thank you for this brilliant idea and for taking the time to film and edit that series of videos.
Love the "old friends" notion as well... isn't it what we all felt when meeting at BS08? : )

@Connie - are you referring wearing a pink boa and a green foam Lady of Liberty hat? You were a great sport and a true Diva to do this piece!

@Luc - it was you, Connie, Drew and Gavin who get the applause on this one. I was simply the "recorder" of your innovative insights. Yes! it was lovely to meet "old friends" at the Social.

@Ann - Why is it in the world of social media time flies too fast? But with so many bloggers who were intense and intent to capture every moment we have a tapestry of visuals for our memory books.
